Business as usual? | EMEA Conference 2009 |
Sign up for Warsaw | Winners win together

Business as usual?
Despite the tough conditions in most of the world’s real estate markets, Colliers EMEA is going ahead with its annual event – because, when times are tough, the tough get going together.

That’s why the top brokers, managers, leaders and other Colliers team members from across Europe, Middle East & Africa and also from across the Americas and Asia Pacific will be heading for Warsaw in June.

What will be different this year – by comparison with the past four years of razzmatazz in some of Europe’s capital cities (Prague 2004, Athens 2006, Berlin 2007 and Copenhagen 2008), because we recognise the reality of cutbacks and cost control – is the format and the cost of the event.  Accommodation costs (though in the best top quality five-star international Conference hotel in Warsaw) and delegate fees are far lower than in previous years.

But the value and benefits of the Conference will be no less.  In fact, it will be greater – because it is exactly what is needed at this time.

EMEA Conference 2009 will be totally focused on revenue generation, on business development, on ways to face the new market realities, on what works best, what creative business ideas, disciplines and leadership principles we may have overlooked in recent years just because times were so good (and so easy?).

Every challenge brings new opportunities.  And, for Colliers to be out there ahead of our top-heavy rivals as well as ahead of our sleeker local niche players, we need to bring our best people together to share our best ideas, best practices, best creative business thinking - and work together to identify fresh revenue opportunities across the EMEA region.

Is it ‘business as usual’ for this year and the next few years?  If we think it is and we plan to stay on that ‘straight and narrow path’, we may be heading for the exit.  Will the world look the same after this global economic crisis?  Answer: Unlikely.  How do we best face that future (unclear as it is)?  Answer: Together.

Sign up for Warsaw
What a location to choose for our 2009 Conference at a time like this!  Warsaw (and Poland in general) is a classic lesson in how to survive and win against the worst odds.  Invaded and occupied more times than most of us can imagine (by the Swedes and the Transylvanians, the Turks and the French, the Russians and the Prussians, the Nazis and the Communists), Warsaw knows how to plan, how to resist and how to win.  (See later pages in this website.)

Not only has Warsaw survived and rebuilt time and time again: Poland has emerged in the past decade as one of the strongest of the “new” countries of Europe.  With its geographic size, large population and above all strength of character, this venue for Colliers 2009 Conference is a venue for winners.  For Colliers winners.

Winners win together
Over the past four years, EMEA Conference has moved from a zero start to bringing together each June over 350 Colliers people from more than 40 countries (plus sponsors and speakers).

Over the past two years, EMEA Winter Assembly has brought together each January (from another zero start) up to 100 of Colliers’ top business leaders from across the EMEA for key business development sessions.

They (you?) are the Colliers business winners.  They (you?) are the ones that make Colliers work.

Sign up for Warsaw and you are signing up for the best and only truly international Colliers opportunity in 2009 to find out what works best in these new market conditions, how others are breaking the boundaries of expectation, how others are winning new business and new clients, how others are generating new revenue, how others are beating the opposition and convincing their clients (and other people’s clients) that Colliers wins for them because it wins together.

Sign up for Warsaw now and you are signing up for a future where Colliers can and will only get stronger.  Sign up for Warsaw and you are signing up for a future where Colliers is – as it should be – the market leader worldwide.
